Outlook
The outlook for oil services remains challenging as projects continue to be
postponed and there is pressure on pricing. There are some signs of a recovery,
particularly offshore Norway and in the brownfield segment where oil companies
are focusing on optimizing output from existing fields. Industry efficiency
improvements are bringing down break-even costs on developments, which is
spurring more project sanctions.

05/12-2017 07:21:27: (AKSO) Aker Solutions Wins Johan Castberg Orders Totaling About NOK 4 Billion

December 5, 2017 - Aker Solutions won key work to help Statoil develop the Johan Castberg field, the largest oil discovery in the Norwegian Barents Sea.

The company will supply the subsea production system and design the topside of the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility, which will be the largest-ever of its kind offshore Norway. The total value of the work is about NOK 4 billion and will be booked in the fourth-quarter orders.

Aker Solutions has been directly involved in the Johan Castberg development since its earliest phases, providing concept studies and front-end engineering design that have helped drive down costs and make the Arctic project even more viable.

"Our early involvement and strong collaboration with Statoil have helped halve the development costs, enabling this strategically important project to move forward," said Aker Solutions Chief Executive Officer Luis Araujo. "The field is critical in further developing northern Norway as an oil and gas region."

Subsea System

The subsea production system will consist of 30 wells with vertical subsea trees, wellheads, control systems, 10 templates and manifolds, two satellite structures and tooling. The system was ordered by Statoil as part of a framework agreement awarded today.

Work on the system will start this month and involve facilities in Norway, the UK, India, Malaysia and Brazil. Initial deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2019 with final delivery in the first half of 2023.

Topside Design

The FPSO agreement covers engineering, procurement and management assistance for the detailed design of the Johan Castberg topside. The order comes after Statoil exercised an option in a 2013 engineering contract for Johan Castberg.

The work has already started and will be carried out by Aker Solutions in Norway and India. The detailed design is set to be completed in 2019.

"We are able to generate significant project synergies by building on our work from the early stages of the development and playing on our combined strengths in both subsea and floating installations to optimize the overall solution," said Araujo.

13/12-2017 08:00:11: (AKSO) Aker Solutions Wins Modifications Contract From Maersk Drilling

December 13, 2017 - Aker Solutions won an order from Maersk Drilling to modify the production module on the Mærsk Inspirer jack-up rig for the Repsol-operated Yme oilfield offshore Norway.

The order is valued at about NOK 1 billion and will be booked in the fourth quarter. The work scope covers engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services.

The North Sea Yme field was closed in 2001 after five years of production and is now being redeveloped by the operator Repsol.

"We look forward to working with Maersk Drilling to ensure a successful and cost-efficient modification of the jack-up rig, which will be used in the new development of the Yme field," said Executive Vice President Knut Sandvik, who heads Aker Solutions' projects delivery center. "This plays to the strengths of our operations in Norway and our expertise in complex modifications."

Work on the project is set to start immediately and conclude at the end of 2019. Engineering and procurement will take place at Aker Solutions' office in Stavanger, Norway. Construction will be carried out at the company's fabrication facility in Egersund.

The production module was originally built in 2007 and Mærsk Inspirer has had 10 years of successful operations for Statoil on the Volve field. Following the modifications work on the module, Mærsk Inspirer will operate for 5-10 years at the Yme field for Repsol.

Aker Solutions Secures Subsea Services Agreement With Statoil

December 14, 2017 - Aker Solutions secured a framework agreement to provide
subsea services for Statoil-operated oil and gas fields offshore Norway.

The contract has a fixed period of five years, starting in the first quarter of
2018, and contains five four-year extension options. Its value depends on the
amount of work ordered by Statoil under the agreement. This is currently
estimated at about NOK 3 billion for the fixed period and will be booked in
fourth-quarter orders.

The agreement provides work for Aker Solutions' services bases in Ågotnes on the
west coast of Norway and Hammerfest, located on the country's northern tip.

"These contracts illustrate the strength of the subsea services presence we have
built across Norway," said Aker Solutions Chief Executive Officer Luis Araujo.
"We look forward to delivering to such a key customer as Statoil and playing a
part in further building Norway's newest oil and gas region in the far north."

The contract scope covers subsea lifecycle services, including offshore
installation and retrieval of equipment, maintenance, engineering and operations
support.
